A Legends told that the emperor of Mandi wanted to kill holy Guru Padmasambhava when he came to know that his daughter Mandarava had become a saint of the Guru Padmasambhava and wanted to flee away with him. The King caught them and attemped to set them on fire. But the Guru had a supernatural power and he turned the pyre into a lake. Guru Padamsambhava took a spiritual flight to Tibet from Rewalsar but belivers hold that his Holy spirit still alive in the lake. He is known as Guru Rimpoche in Tibet.
The Gurudwara was built in 1930 to commemorate a month long stay that Sikhs Guru Gobing Singh spent by the serens water.The Hindu temples are dedicated to Lord Krishna,Lord Shiva and the Holy sage Lomas.
Rewalsar can be reached by road only from delhi.It is 430 km.ay from Delhi. It is 25 km. from mandi and 80 km. from Joginder nagar,the closest train station to the places. The nearest airport is at Bhunter.
